Sitting in the main lobby of a large corporate-looking building was a smallish being. His exo-suit shimmered in the bright lights as he looked over a few clerks of varying races dealing with a long line of hopefuls.

He was a bounty hunter, organising a tournament for reasons unknown, open to pretty much anyone who could fight. The atrium was filled with the chatter of the entrants, the repeated "sign here, here, and here", "fill this out, please", and "thank you, good luck!" from the clerks. There had been so many entrants, they had to hire extras and make them all work on four-hour shifts, and they seemed to be only half done! Still, this promised to be quite an interesting tourney, since there were competitors of all shapes, sizes, genders, ages, biological structures, abilities, you name it.

Though, they'd have to sort through all the applications later. They'd have to group entrants by levels of aptitude, rather than the previously-planned entry number.
